An Epic Tale

March 2nd, 2008

Stories will be told for years to come of how clubboss/ airboss, navigated the remote wilderness, fought off bandits and survived on bad music and milky ways until they found the fabled lost barn. Once there they prepared for battle by drinking, telling tall stories and making lewd suggestions.

The next day they where awoken at the crack of dawn by the great sage who offered up succulent grilled pig to prepare them for the day ahead. The wind gods had been kind and the huge expanse of the battle field showed promise. Dready went into battle first wielding the legendary ozone frenzy given to him by the great lord of Slingshot. That was just a taster of things to come. Next up was the colour bearer Steve, splendidly decked out in Blue and Red. This roused the troops into battle and what came next can only be described as a berserker rage, as the rest of the troops entered the fray, Angus was whirling his kite like a man possessed; Lee was pushing the battle line’s forward with trick after trick, Ted bowling over the opposition by boosting huge air attacks. Next to enter the fray was Steve (zs) wary of wielding his new weapon bestowed on him by the lords of Waroo and de-power but he over came his apprehension and quickly stepped up to the battle. Matt and Jules made up the rear guard constantly fending of attacks with there amazing battle skills.

As the troops begin to tire and hunger the great Druid Clive offered substance and magic elixirs to boost there spirits and stave of there hunger. By Midday the troops started to falter and the battle ground began to retreat but reinforcements arrived in the form of James, Sam, Adam and Mark. There ranks renewed the battle raged on. The melee took its toll as as the troops started to fall one after one, Sam, Angus and Lee all sustained injuries but they bravely fought on. As the sun begins to set and the weather turned cold the battlefield was strew with bodies of there enemies it was obvious that clubboss/ airboss had owned the day.

The troops retired to the Barn to drink, eat and tell stories of the day’s battle. The victory celebration continued right into the night. Some of the troops even accepted the great challenge of booking a taxi. Eventually they retired for the night to prepare for the next days battle. music real ringtones metro pcs phone ringtones caller ringtones 24 ringtones show tv 24 ringtones theme free phone ringtones verizon wireless disney free mobile ringtones free nokia ringtones free verizon real music ringtones info motorola remember ringtones metro pcs ringtones download free arabic ringtones boost free mobile ringtones free hindi ringtones free real music cingular ringtones metro pcs phone ringtones real music ringtones free make own ringtones download free polyphonic ringtones crazy frog ringtones

Used my wind Quota for the year

February 10th, 2008

I think I used up all the wind last weekend oh well. Still managed to get a couple of hours static flying on the blade. Me and the wife went to Sunny Hunny. It was a sunny winters day and very warm, there was a small breeze (aprox 6 mph). There where a few die hards trying to buggy and one guy was trying to kite surf. As always the blade was great static fun in low wind. Sue even had her imp quattro flying. I met a new flyer who had a Pansh, he had a go  on the blade and loved it. Like all pansh owners he bought his Pansh it based on reviews then relised how rubbish it is :-(. Oh well it was  agood day for me and I got some execrise.

What a Weekend

February 7th, 2008

Me and some friends went to north wales for the weekend. Friday was howling in the high 20’s I was out on my 11m Slingshot having a lovely time. What a session. Saturday was on shore with a steady 20mph. Was getting some huge floaty jumps. Not getting as much height as I would like. But that will come. But loads of float and hang time. Sunday was stupid winds, 55mph max. We took the lines of a sting and conected the handles to the kite. Then went buggying and boarding. it was a great we flew till about lunch time then headed home.

Tired worn out aqll my muscles hurt but what a session :-)

New years resoloution

January 25th, 2008

This year I plan to lose some weight and ge fit. The reason I want to take my kiteing further, I am reasonable confident boarding and kite surfing, I can fly in most winds, I fly quite powered up, I can jump to good height with resonable float. I know want to start pulling basic tricks. Nothing flash just old school stiff like grabs and foot outs. Unfortunatly it has become obviouse that I need to lose a little weight and spend time down the gym. Unfortunatly I don’t kite enougth to keep fit. But hopefully that is going to change this year.

I am back

September 18th, 2007

Had a few weeks of serious kiteing due to recovering from a majo op, but I now have permission from the doc to go kitesurfing so roll on the weekend.

Best Session Ever

August 20th, 2007

Well till the next one.

Went to camber saturday, wind was 20 mph + on shore. I was out on the 14m slingshot t2 and loving it. Had great time popping little jumps off the waves there where a few feet heigh. Also nailed toeside :-). Was only a half day session due to tides but stayed out all morning.

I think i need a new board I am finding the wide stance on my fanatic eastwood a little uncomfertable. Tride a Nobile 555 (135) saturday and lved it. Did find I couldn’t hold down as much power thougth so might need a smaller kite.

Clubboss Freestyle Jam and Buggy Race

August 14th, 2007

Wow is all I can say, what a day I was totally knackered on Monday I don’t know how I thought I could organise and enter at the same time. A big thank you must go to Jarv and James (Kitegeek) they really helped out during the day.  We had 12 people enter the Freestyle 9 Boarders 3 Buggiers. We got 2 heats in before the wind dropped to low to run a freestyle event so I let the buggy guys do there thing. I think the racing went down really well with the crowd   as it was fast paced and exciting, ask lee he got run over by Ed’s Buggy.

The feedback I got from all the riders and the crowd was great and everybody had a great time. We where really lucky with the weather as it had been predicted no wind. The airfield it a great site for stuff like this and I hope Clubboss do more events.

Would I do it again, yes but not for another 6 months.

Mammoth session

August 10th, 2007

Sunday 5th august what a session nearly 8 hours flying, totally wiped but a good day. Loads of big air and tried some new ground tricks like manuals and landing to manuals J. Still need to get confidence in the air but that will come. Watched polkey strut his stuff he was getting some nice jumps an nailed a perfect rotation. Rich was going big on his blades 8.5. Kite Geek turned up and joined in the fun. Have to say he looked a lot better on the Naish boxer than then on his venom.

Gin Nazca

August 7th, 2007

Ive been testing this kite alot over the weekend and love it.  Plenty of everything you need in my book.  Maybe a bit more bar pressure and better relaunch off the grass would improve it for my riding style.  But overall its a pretty neat kite.  If your at the kitepark whilst the demo kite is still here get a go on it and see what you think!

The Eskimo is also here which is similar to a Frenzy/Sabre II.  So if thats your cup of tea have a go on that instead!

Gentle Reminder

August 1st, 2007

Kiting is an extreme sport, I myself am a fairly average kiter I can fly most kites (Except Flysurfer) in most winds, Jump, go upwind, ride toe-side, kite surf and buggy and don’t really consider my self that extreme unlike Rich, Sam, Lewis Wilby et ell. But I had a bit of a wake up call this weekend when Bird go lofted out of his buggy slammed into the deck and dragged down the field. The conditions where pretty nasty and it was well gusty, a few times I had that rush of fear as the kite powers up and you end up hovering an inch of the floor. But it’s healthy and reminds you that your still alive. However bird got launched out of his buggy nearly 6 feet in the air  and had a hard landing, fortunately he is ok apart from few bruises. It was nice to see how fast people rushed to help him once they realised there was a problem pretty much the whole field stopped to help. But it could have been worse, its nice to get awake up call every so often. !!! Now where is that body armour?
